Melting Slicks
The new Corvettes are anything BUT a young man's Vette.
They are an OLD man's Vette...so you'd fit right in!
The young car enthusiasts of today were raised on VW's and Toyotas. They do not aspire to Corvettes, they aspire to Hondas and Nissans and BMW's and Audi's.
I have long since addressed all the shortcomings on my '96 and now just keep it waxed. Other than HRE wheels, it looks stock on the outside; the changes are all under-the-skin and are performance-oriented.

Burning Brakes
Mostly stock, especially the outer skin. With an L98, headers and Corsa catback (on my list). Just to help it breathe a little; I'm not going to the dyno shop.
With a Z51, there's no need to upgrade the brakes. I've hit them hard from 100+mph and yeah, they could be better, but then again, I try not to drive such that I need to hit them hard from 100mph. You're on public roads, after all, even if they are pretty deserted. Overall, they've never let me down.
With an auto like mine, leaving the drivetrain stock. If I need a tranny at some point, there are lots of them out there.
Otherwise just upkeep and drive the hell out of it. They're pretty bulletproof cars if you pay attention to upkeep.

Beautiful 40th. As a 40th, I wouldn't mess much with it being non-stock, either.

Making it as track focused as I can, without ruining it as a driver. Its a delicate line to balance between being racy, and making it no fun to drive on the road.
The C4 is, IMO the best performance bang for the buck right now, so I expect more and more of them to end up as peoples track toys.

One that is stock and will stay that way, and one that with just a tune exhaust, headers and P&P took it from 375hp to 500hp.

Mine is a track car, so I'm removing heavy stock things like the fat people friendly seats and replacing them with lighter less fat people friendly things!
