Seat belt light

There is a switch in the driver's side seat belt latch that tells the light to turn off. The method varies depending on the year, which you failed to mention.
Pull the seat out and check out the wiring. It might just be unplugged.

the OP needs to specify the year of his car. it almost sounds like he has a 90 -
I wonder if "rls" is a typo for "sir" -- ???
if it is a 90, he needs to pull the codes. most likely, it's a faulty air bag sensor ground.
Seatbelt light stays on and rls in the message center
