Go with the LED readout on the dash rather than the analog. The analog gauge is difficult to read because of the pointer and the distance between marks on the gauge.
When my friend took her 94 to the 1/4 mile drag track and we were making multiple passes down the track. She was sure the car was starting to overheat by looking at the analog gauge. When we changed the dash readout to show the coolant temp things looked 100% better.

LED readout, on my 95 LT1 the analog gauge is 3/4 way when the first fan stage trips and the hi speed on point is mid way to the hash marks. The LED reads 228 and 236 at these points. 205 is the half way point on the analog.
