I got the covers yesterday. I'm no seamstress, but the quick, tired after work, look over I gave them, they seemed fine to me. A lot thicker than I thought they would be.

Ok, so let's revive this thread with my final experience.
I purchased these covers months ago. They are the same ones Antfarmer got. I opted to also buy new seat buns from Willcox, as mine were pretty worn.
I attempted to do these myself. I purchased the hog rings, pliers and the piping. Well, I got very frustrated. I was tearing the part where the hog rings would attach to. So I decided to have these done by a professional.
I found an upholsterer through a buddy of mine who owns a 95 Z28. His seats looked great, so I got the info to his guy. The upholsterer told me he would charge me $200 for both seats completed. If they needed anything extra, it would be on him. Well he did need to do more work than anticipated.
He had the same issue I did. The material where the hog rings go was ripping. He called and explained everything to me. He also showed me the issue.
Well, the material that was sewed on the covers is called Cambridge. It's a very weak material that is made for furniture. It normally goes on the bottom of couches and recliners. It's weak and it tears. My guy ended up taking that crap out and sewing in new material called decking. This material is used to cover spring boxes for beds. It's super strong and you can't tear it.
So my guy ended up taking the covers apart and sewing the correct material to the new covers. If you look at the original seats in your C4s, it's actually leather where the hog rings go. But this is where our friend who sells the covers cheaped out on.
So, in the end the covers are well worth the $249. My guy said that's a hell of a deal. Here is a pic of the final product.

Weird thing is I didn't ask for 7 lines. I actually forgot to ask weeks after I figured he had already made them. So I said screw it. When they came in, they were 7 lines. Go figure.

I asked for samples of differant colors when I ordered my seats for show and tell for the forum no luck. The guy you order from is in A.U. and the seats are made in Texas. I Have heard the red is a bit brighter than stock but have never seen it.

I am bidding on the ones he has now where you can choose between black or red. I am on the fence as far as the color is concerned. I have a Torch Red interior with red seats but I think the black would look actually better with the red trim and carpet.
Wish me luck, a little less than 2 hours left.
