Don't think I said that. However, given the choice between an early L98 car with an Atari dash and an automatic and a 94 LT1 M6 car for a grand less, I would go for the LT1. Just my opinion, not a judgment on early C4's.

Well, in MY opinion, the "Atari dash" is one of the coolest features of a C4. I would prefer an L98.

That's you, I have two friends with them. One is on his second reconditioned unit and the other just did his first.
Also, why would you prefer a 250 HP L98 over the LT1 platform? I don't get that either. I've driven both of theirs, I don't see why a stock L98 would be preferred.

I don't know if you've noticed but the LT1 is not a huge improvement over the L98 in terms of speed. It's only like half a second faster in the 1/4 mile.

I prefer the Atari dash but putting that aside from what I've seen of the problems people have had with the dashes I think the new dash has more problems than the Atari dash does actually. Just from an asking for help/failure perspective.
As for motors? If I wanted a motor that had the easiest to get the most horsepower out of and didn't autocross Id want the lt1 motor (I have one of those too).
If I wanted something easy and cheap to maintain motor wise and cooling system wise and or autocrossed again Id stick with the L98.
Just my opinion

First off, I prefer the older body style and interior. Secondly, and I know I will get bashed for this, I don't have to replace a $500 optispark every now and then.

You're taking this personal, my point is that $7K can but a lot more car than an early L98 car with an auto.

To me its old vs new interior that is the big choice to make. If you like the original dash get an early c4. If you want the new dash/interior get a newer one.
As for $7k? For a daily driver with a fair amount of seat wear that would be too high.
DD's normally go for 3500 to 6k tops around here.
Showish cars are 7k and up.
But another thing to consider is where the buyer lives and how far they are willing to travel to buy.
While 3500 to 4500 is the norm here all day long in Alabama that isn't the norm in say California where a dd can bring 7k on up easy.
