Seats loose and move around fix?
I have a 1989 with power seats. Everything works as it should except the seat moves around under acceleration and breaking. They seem loose or seems like the track is not locking as it should.
I think I had seen a fix to to this problem but cant find anything under a search? Anyone point me in the right direction please?

You can do 2 things, one is to make sure the 2 front and 2 back seat frame to car body bolts are tight. The other is to pull the bottom seat cushion loose and check the 4 bolts, 2 front -2 rear, that secure the seat transmission to the seat frame.

Wait a minute. The seat bottom is supposed to be attached to the seat?
Both of mine just rest on the seat. They're extremely flat and sink in too much. If I could find the foam and cover for just the bottom I'd do it for now until I get the entire seat foam/cover replaced when I have more money.

My drivers seat does the same thing. All 8 bolts are tight. There seems to be some play in the track. Maybe the PO was a big guy and liked the skinny peddle a little too much???

It's pretty common to have play in the track. It's not an easy fix as the track has to be rebuilt IIRC. There are company's out there that will rebuild but it's not cheap

Don't forget to check a Corvette Bone Yard for a used seat transmission if money is tight. Or you could swap seats and make the passenger seat your new driver seat. Only time spent doing that if the passenger does not rock. My 07 C6 started rockin' at 60,000 miles. Had the seat transmission replaced under warranty.

I thought about that, but my seats are the sports seats so those covers won't fit. I'm planning on replacing the support webbing for just the driver's side first and if it helps I'll do the passenger side. That part is actually pretty inexpensive.
