Default 95 vert tire wrench storage ????

Okay, dumb question time, easy too. The spare tire instruction placard shows behind drivers seat but does it just lay on the carpet? Am I missing any mounting bracket, can't imagine that would be removed. Anyone care to send pic of theirs would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Thanks for quick reply. The seats have been changed from original, PO must not have replaced the clips. If you have chance and can send pic at your convenience would at least give me a starting point for a little in-garage fab.

Here's the clips you need. Looks like time for a JY or maybe a WTB in the "parts section". All years 88+ should be the same I'm quite sure.

Thank you.
You lost me on the JY, WTB reference but that typically doesn't take much

Junk Yard - Wanted To Buy -

Are your current seats attached to the floor using the original anchors? If yes the wing-nuts are M8 X 1.25

Thanks again. Yes appear to be original anchors . PO had the seats recovered or changed at some point, I think the hold downs were probably never replaced. The wrench was bouncing around with the Jack when I purchased the car and has been sitting on garage shelf since then. If I can get it back in, then I have much better chance of not getting a flat

I have not dropped it, good idea. Just a visual that it is there. That stomach dropping feeling when you put spare on, lower it down to the rim... Yea that would be me.

The jack is stored with the spare. The reason the wrench is separate is due to the wrench being used to loosen the nut to lower the spare tire carrier. Spare tires are rare..... even when available, they may be too old for safe driving. Be cautious.
As suggested, check the inflation of the spare, as it may have never been inspected.

When dropping the tire carrier, you will notice that it has two positions..... one for the small spare, and one for the larger tires that
are on the vette.

You might consider buying a can, or two, of tire sealant, and an
air compressor for emergencies:

Default My 94 Vert storage

The jack on my 94 vert is stored behind the passenger seat in the locking compartment. Lift out the plastic tray and there it is! Kind of hidden well. Your 95 I would guess is the same.

That is where the previous owner decided to store it.
The jack was placed in the center of the spare rim when it came from the factory. That is where my jack was stored in my '93 ruby when I bought it new.

Hi Richard,

That it is, thank you. Appreciate the note. It was the loose lug wrench that didn't have a home. Got great fast feedback on the placement behind the drivers seat, but the hold down brackets were missing. Thanks to a kind forum member, have a set on the way on the cheap. I did take the jack out to ensure that the lug wrench hold down brackets were not there, maybe stored and forgot about by PO. I did find a long lost friend, needless to say that mouse had been flat for a long time...

Have to love this forum, where else would post about lug wrench storage get ongoing attention and feedback

Be well and hopefully we run into each other again in the future. I'm still new to this game and can use all the direction available.

On my 95, the jack is stored in a custom (OE) foam insert that holds the jack under the storage behind the passengers seat. Would have to agree with previous poster about factory storage. Maybe switched up later years
