I used mothers metal polish on the a/c plumbing and it looks like chrome. I did it a few years and still looks like new. The alternator is another story. I used the scotch Brite pads and polish but was not happy with results. I just left it alone. I was thinking of re spraying with aluminum paint at one time

"SHINED UP" or back to OE in appearance? There's differences and it certainly depends on your intentions for the car. NCRS maybe?

for a long lasting, "factory" look -- (glass) bead blast and PPG Chem-Film (DX501)

A silver-gray paint color from Ecklers was Stainless Steel Blast. #100-511.
A good nature metal looking finish for the engine bay.

This Eagle wheel cleaner with the etching formula has been discussed on the forum. I tried it and I could definitely see the difference. The best part is that there was not a lot of work involved, just scrubbed with an old brush/toothbrush and then rinse it off with water.

I couldn't find it in some stores but I did find it a Autozone.
