The 4+3 was a 4sp with an overdrive.

Unfortunate to hear. I know it gets bashed a lot but with proper understanding, it really is a slick transmission. I rode along with forum member HnhlEast in his 85' 4+3. I liked the crisp clicks the shifter made as it hit all four gears and when he hit the OD button it wasn't even noticeable. I had prepared myself for some type of "clunky" transition or some shudder in the slightest but nothing. It was a buttery smooth engagement that didn't even feel like we left standard 4th gear until the engine noise dropped along with the rpm. Very misunderstood transmission but glad the oddball is a part of Corvette history.
