Default Stock Center Caps

I bought a set of wheels today, but they didn't come with center caps. Where is the best place to source a set? They don't need to be mint as I will be refinishing the wheels I have.

Center caps depend on the wheel you bought. What did you buy?

They are a set of genuine ZR-1 A Molds.

Saw them in the last Ecklers catalog and as I remember, they ain't cheap! Different years for crest designs and costs varied by year/style.

The '91 and '92 sawblades have the same center cap. They are the painted version.

For the money that new center caps cost, I bought a set of '92 wheels with caps at a good price. Some sets on Craigslist are really cheap and negotiable below that. I plan to sell the wheels without caps (or a generic cap). That will make it free to maybe make some money on the center caps I am keeping. Just another option for finding what you need if you don't mind trading a bit.

'91+ center caps are all the same "except" the CE, the GS and the 40th regardless if it's a saw-blade (either style) or an A-mold (5 spoke).

OP - you mention painting your wheels black on the other forum. I have a plain center cap that has been engraved with the ZR-1 script in it's original font like the rear bumper but reduced to fit the center cap appropriately. In black they don't photograph well or I'd post a snapshot. Buy "blanks" and see an engraver, trophy/plaque vendor. You'll need maybe 6 or so caps as the depth takes some experimentation. The engraver I used hit it on his 2D attempt.

I also suggested painting vs. powder-coat and I still suggest it.

The blanks are generally only sold in chrome coat but they'll paint easily.

No. The '91 and '92 sawblade caps are painted like the ones for the A-molds. The '93 to '96 sawblade caps are a match to the machine finished wheels (I think the cap is stainless).

I agree that the '91 to '96 center caps are the same size and will interchange, but they are different.

Yes the machined finish wheels are different '93+ That catches me once in a while. If it's a painted saw-blade or a ZR-1 A-mold 5 spoke it's identical and yes they all do fit.

If you want to color a '90 wheel you can use the earlier black center caps for them. I've done a few sets for local fellows.

Default 93 Brushed aluminum center caps

I have a set of 4 of these (GM part #10194327), that are like Ecklers # 33787 that came of a friend of mine who totaled his 93! Anyone interested can have them for $40 for all 4 and I will ship. My 94 has chrome wheels and centers so I don't need. PM me if interested.

That does sound cool. Although it will be hard to see if the wheels are black or graphite color.

It looks like the center caps on my other wheels are plastic and therefore cannot be powdercoated with the rest of the wheel. Do they make metal ones or will I have to break down and just paint the wheels?

Looked closer at the caps I have. They appear to have a plastic base with aluminum on the outside. I believe aluminum is not magnetic so???
