A nice C4 is really starting to stand out
Not sure why it took me so long to start appreciating the C4. Looking back I think I was a bit put off with the look of the early interiors and the horror stories I was hearing about the ride. It may also have had to do with the sheer number of them I was seeing on the road for years.
Lately just seems like you seldom see a nice example out being driven and when you do the car really stands out.
Do not know if it is just me but now when I see a nice C4 out being driven or parked they just get my attention and I am starting to see what a beautiful and cool looking car the C4 is.
Of course when you see one with the hood lifted up that is just icing on the cake.

My 89 coupe is by no means a trophy winning show car but it looks nice for it's age. I was at a car show last week and parked toward the back of the area. When the place filled up I was between a Viper and a 65 Plymouth Fury.
I watched from a distance and everybody that came by oogled over the Viper, walked around my C4 to oogle over the Fury. So it's not that big of a head turner around here, yet.
But, if it's possible to "love" a piece of machinery I'm guilty, screw everybody else.

If your happy that's what matters. Plus the c4 is the most unpopular model of all the vets but at the rate they are scrapping them they may be worth the most in the future.

I think there is a time when car car goes from "old" to "classic". I think the c4 might be heading into the classic phase.

C4 has the cleanest lines of any Corvette IMHO. Understated and relatively simple styling is fine with me.
What might be even more attractive than the body (to me) is that the C4 is such a fantastic driver's car. It has a great mix of rawness and refinement, plus hardly anything else of the era has such a cockpit feel. So much fun to drive!

I totally agree, for some reason these cars have caught my eye for the past 3 years when before they were just another car to me. So for the past year I have been looking to get one.
Recently I bought a 96 CE LT4 and user DGXR called it saying "great mix of rawness and refinement". I don't see people ooogling over the car but I believe the C4 will get there it will take a little time but it will get there.

As a new Corvette owner I am now asking myself why it took me so long.
I own a '95 Jag convertible ( I know I just seem to gravitate to '95 convertibles ) and they are a wonderful car but I now have my '95 vette parked next to the Jag in the garage and all my wife's friends can comment on when they go through the garage is how awesome the vette looks.
I swear I feel like saying to them " what about my prestine Jag " but I must admit the vette does look bad a$$. I find myself just staring at the vette every chance I can and I look forward to getting into it as it truly feels like a sports car.

I was surprised to see how unpopular the C4 era is by Vette owners in other forum sections, i.e. C1-3 and C5-7....looks like a pole was done on one of them and by all accounts the c4 was rated at the bottom of all generations or near the bottom .....makes it hard to waive first to a non c4 Corvette motorist unless they waive first...we are not worthy.....😩😩
But yea, a nice C4 still looks great...a lot have fallen in the wrong hands due to the cost of entry .

C4 had basically the same body style for 12 years.
Came out in the middle of the 80's when 200 hp was considered allot.
C4 was called the Fastest Production car in 1985 and ran 13.9 in the Quarter and 150 + mph.
That was along time ago and people forget.
Most cars from the 80's people don't like and have the stigma of the 80's.
80's was a Crazy time.
I see styling from the 70's and 60's in clothes and hair styles in magazines all the time.
Don't know if the 80's style will come back like the 60's and 70's did.
Maybe its to soon to tell.
Time will tell.

The C5 and C6 body styles changed even less over their production runs than did the C4. In comparison, it's pretty radical to consider how much the C2 and C3 styles changed over their runs. I'm hopeful for the C7... and it's not that I don't like the current style, I do like it. I just think that periodic updates are important to keep the latest model relevant to the times, and keeping a fresh look.
Hey! I love the '80s styles! That decade was so much fun, I can barely remember...
