I have a 92 coupe and am trying to replace the rear hatch seal. I can't seem to get the struts off. I've tried to pry and tap on them but no go. Is there a trick to removing the struts?

If I remember right I used a oring pick under the backside of the clip to pry out

correct - you need something to pry the clip out.

It has been a long time since I did this on my 86 coupe (1996?) but I think the guy in this video did it the same way:

I appreciate your suggestions. Using pry tools, the strut still wasn't popping loose. So, after further investigation discovered the strut ends have a clip that you need to pull out and the struts just pop off.


Yes, I know that I should have seen this earlier but, the eyes are just not what they used to be.

Anyway, I hope this will help someone in the future and again thanks for your suggestions.
