Default Looking at a 95

Hey Guys
Not that I need a another C4, but right next to me I've got a 95 black on black with auto, 103K that went up for sale. Clean car inside an out all stock. The price is only $5K. Chrome sawblades is the only mod with that are also clean.
The only downfall is its got a tick in the top end, Engine oil clean. Pretty sure I can get it for $4k, I think I could just get a head job done on it and flip it.
Think its worth to pursue?

Sounds like a decent deal if you want it but I dont think you will come out very well on a flip.

That's what I'm thinking. After checking some prices I'm seeing these things being sold for 6-8K, I'm only looking at maybe making a couple of grand on a flip. Idk

Betty Boop was a 95, and that was a great Corvette.

A tick could be many things. Take it to the freeway, and open it up.

105,000 miles is nothing as long the car has been taken care throughout it's lifespan.

Well I picked it up for $3700
Been going thru it for the last couple of hours and this is what I've found.

Trim on Targa is loose, just needs to be redone
Drivers side door panel loose at the top, just reset it and its perfect now.
Passengers side targa top weather strip leaks, so that will get replace
Paint is very good, but will need to detail it with some rubbing compound.

The tick goes away once warmed up so I assume either rockers or lifters but doesn't seem to be a big deal. Other that those things the car runs perfect, no major flaws in interior except for a small tear under dash as seen in pic.

For the price I figured I can't go wrong.

I'm thinking about it.. but I've got my silver 84 that's a one of a kind, and a yellow 94 for the wife.. so I have no one to drive this one. But with that price I couldn't resist

Sounds good.

Take heads off, new lifters, rods, 1.6 rollers, get heads rebuilt, and done.

A tick that goes away when warmed up indicates exhaust. Check each manifold and exhaust bolt. Good luck with the car

Great find and looks like its in good shape. As for the ticking, I agree that it may be an exhaust leak on the manifolds.

get a long vacuum hose and put one end in your ear and the other all along the mating surfaces of the exh manifold. Even the smallest leak will be obvious. Test it out by blowing across the top of the tube... you will pick up any leak audibly.

Slowly going thru the items on this car. Found it was down almost 2 gals antifreeze. The "tick" as gone away for now after doing this and going thru the manifold bolts. I soaked them for a couple of day prior to trying to tighten. Got a half turn on all the ones on passenger side. Naturally gonna watch this for a bit and see what happens.

Why can't I ever stumble upon deals like this?

Great looking car. That's pretty low miles for a 20 year old car. You say it was next door to you? Neighbor or mom and pop dealership?
