I don't think Chevrolet ever referred to the interior colors by the same name as the exterior colors. Torch Red was first used as an exterior color in 1993, but the interior colors were just stated as "red".

Untrue. There were three colors of red interiors in the C4 run. '84-85 was Carmine Red, '86-'92 (not 100% sure on the end date) was Flame Red, and the last (until '96) was Torch Red.

I have the sales brochures for the '84 through '96 model years.

The brochures name the red interior color as follows:

'84-'85 = Dark Red
'86-'92 = Red
'93-'96 = Torch Red

I don't know if other publications list them differently, but these names I can confirm in the GM brochures.

93 was the first year for torch red..

89-92 was flame red (86-88 could be flame red too)
