I hate to point out the obvious, but the sway bar is at the back of the car, underneath

damn, I could swear the FSM, under "replace rear bushings," it says to remove the heads to equalize the weight on the rear suspension - -

You CAN get the cam out of it if you remove the radiator.

Your only seven more bolts away from removing the engine to clean and repaint

Been there, done that....still doing that. Funny how changing a bad alternator turns a TPI 350 700R4 into a miniram 383 six speed Vette over the years. One hell of an alternator. Good luck to you.

haha nice! Definitely the hard way to do rear sway bar bushings, Never seen the under the hood approach. I would imagine some extensions and swivels are needed.

I don't feel so bad now where one leaking injector become a month long project to replace a bunch of stuff "while I was there".

Yep, started off to replace a valve cover gasket and a month later it had turned into a ported intake, new heads, water pump and pulleys/balancer "while I was at it".

It is a disease.

Those "while I'm at its"....

My current project started out just needing to change the throwout bearing, and replace my custom slave cylinder mount. A few months later the car is still not put back together, and now has a rebuilt rear differential with new gears, 6 new u-joints to install, new trans/diff fluid, and I'm sure more while I'm at it.

PS
While I'm at this would be a good time to replace a few rear suspension bushings.

We have all been there. Mine started with changing the distributor on the stock engine and I somehow ended with a 383 crate engine. GM should make their directions on repairs more clear.

looks like a good time to replace piston return springs. Whats that red thing? Is it a splash shield to keep hot oil off the bottom of the intake?
