Why do you need this if you have a D44?

a D44 will more than handle your hp of 500+. Just put in the D44 and, C beam and go.

see4parts sells batwings for like $90 I think.

Can take it. If you drag race you need something stronger. Myself and many others have that range of power for street it's fine. What trans do you have?

I have a 434 with a built up 700r that shift points have been upped, also the trans came from behind a wild 406 drag car. The D44 was too. I am at about 650hp and no issues with the D44. (I also don't have enough stall for my motor 2800 yank) If you trying to plant crazy hp that is another story.

One of the guys here ran stock suspension at over 800hp at the drag strip and pulled wheelies. 50 u joints a season though.

I lose traction before the drive train feels anything with street tires on. I am going blower soon on mine and my weak link is the trans built to 750+ but a 300-500 shot of nitrous would instantly destroy it.

Again my car is a street car, but there are racers using stock D44 stuff.

Just do a D44, cbeam, and spicer u joints and you'll be fine. If you have a stock trans you'll shred it with the 427. If a hard core racer and will grow then get a 4 link or straight axle right away.
