Congrads on your new to you vette. I do not know if it's my computer but the craigslist photos of your car make the paint look almost a light violet color-reminds me of the GM color used for a few years on the GTO.

From your description sounds like the repaint is actually a light tanish color (just goes to show how important it is to look at any car you are planning on buying in person ).

yeah since it was not a great paint job think it ended up with a bit of a pearl look based on lighting.
it will be blue again i think is what the wife has decided.

Keep us informed if you find things that don't work right. Do what they say, get your wheels going in the right direction. I used a sharpie under the lug nut cover to mark my wheels and keep track of them.

Yep we are planning on taking it back to the original color of "bright aqua metallic" as soon as we possibly can. There's some issues with the stereo, and misc. things we want to get done as well. Wheels will be switched probably this weekend.

Good luck, great car and enjoy the C4 Forum. I own an 88 so I am a little out of date on your engine and electronic issues but there some smart folks on this Forum that will be glad to help your year model. I think that is all they have to do.

Congrats on your 92! Looks solid overall from the pictures. Those seats look great, I assume they have been replaced/recovered recently.

Congrats! That's a solid buy right there. Glad she has found a good Corvette home and kudos for eventually getting her repainted in the factory teal color.

Happy for you,

Lee

As they are early painted wheels take the off clean with a good mild de-greaser, than go after them with a good polish like Mcguire's diamond cut than wax. I may get in trouble with your wife for this but I take mine in and do it on the coffee table while I watch a good show!!

most would think however my wife is a true car chic, enjoys getting her hands dirty and all kinda surprised she has not brought them in already

mainly trying to get rid of the fade in color in many areas if we can get the color evened out would look so much better

thanks

So is my wife in fact some of the cars I have are her fault You would be surprised at how well a good clean & wax will make them look.

Yep! Us car chicks know what we want and we go for it!!!

Plan on doing just that. Bringing the wheels in and cleaning them up inside in the comfort of my living room in front of the TV where I can actually be warm.

Try regular old Windex. A guy that details used cars at the local dealership gave me that tip several years ago. I was surprised how well it removes break dust and road grime.
BTW your Vette looks great.
