Lost the door key, ignition or ALL?
'84 has no VATS and is a very straight forward replacement. The least expensive approach would be to buy an ignition cylinder to accomplish that aspect of the solution. The door key can be done from either the console cylinder or a storage compartment cylinder by a "talented" lock technician.
If you don't want to pull the cylinder I GUESS YOU "HIRE SOMEONE".
WHAT?

with the vin# they can tell the key code if not to lazy
if you still have the original owners manual look in there they used to hand write the key code in there when sold.

Any reason not to pull the cylinder? Any qualified locksmith should be able to do it and make you a new key from looking at the pins in the cylinder and put it back good as new while you wait.

Call a locksmith. Ask if he can make the key using the console lock (there's a way they can find the fifth cut by adding the numbers) Of course if the column lock or console have been changed over the years...... Pre 88 they didn't keep a record of keys with vin numbers. If you do pull the cylinder, the code is stamped on it. New cylinder appox $15 at Autozone.
