Default Flush fog lights

Has anyone ever tried to make the fog lights flush with the bumper on the early c4? If so did have any challenges? I would like to see pictures if any one has some.

Have you seen the Callaway body kit? You can still buy them from Callaway:

I don't recall anyone trying this before. And I been around here for a while.
But that doesn't mean I'm always paying attention.........

I just took a look at an early C4 bumper support for an 86 or 87. It's obvious the front bumper cover has to come off first. There's a couple of outboard screws that hold the outer end of each fog light to the bumper support. They look like they are accessed from the back of the bumper support. I don't know if they are accessible with the bumper support mounted to the car. Once those are removed the fog light can be removed by pulling the fog light forward and toward the side of the car. The inboard side is held in by a bracket that has some spring action and slips behind another bracket. I guess this is to make removal easier. Once the fog light is removed there is a bracket on each end that is held onto the fog light with two screws. It looks like spacers could be installed to move the fog lights forward. The bumper cover will need to be trimmed a similar amount of distance the fog light is being spaced forward. I see an issue with trying to replace the fog light bulbs. The bulb holders will be recessed further into the bumper support. If you've ever replaced the front bulbs you'll know what I mean. Can it be done? It looks like it can but removing the bulbs in the fog lights can be a hassle. You might be able to enlarge the access holes in the bumper support. I'm not sure if whatever the bumper support is bolted to can also be modified to reach your hand further forward to remove the bulb holders. I'll take some pics and post soon.

Installed RH light

Removed RH light with inboard clip on bumper support visible and outboard mounting holes visible. These lights can't be removed unless the bumper cover is removed from the bumper support.

Overhead view of light. The inboard and outboard clips are screwed to the plastic and can probably be spaced out equally.

Inboard spring clip relaxed. Time and stress has taken it's toll on the mounting boss, it's cracked. Looks like the bosses can crack during removal or install.

Inboard spring clip compressed. It then slips under the inboard clip on the bumper support.

Outboard clip. Screws are fastened to this clip from the backside of the bumper support.

Cheap plug for flush mount tail lights if interested.
