Default Value question on 1988 35th car

What is a running driving 88 35th 4+3 car worth that needs a restoration paint and interior tires etc has 158k miles? I was thinking $2500, but there is a no title car on ebay that is at $2550 and it is an auto with 3 days 10 hours left and 22 bids.

I want this car but worry about the price he wants $4000 which I thought was too high until I saw the ebay car activity.

What do you think?
Thanks,
Shawn

Sounds like you will have to put 10 grand plus and have a 5 grand car. No title cops might take it.

The car I am looking at has a title. The no title car was just used to get a value. I was surprised a no title car was bid up that high.

Skip the work, pay up front, and get a cream puff.

If you can afford it I'd go with this one! Price seems fair. Good luck with your search!

Parts on the 35th are pricey and sometimes ya can't find them. Don't buy the fixer upper....go for the first one. The supercharged one might be a bit tired.

That's a fact! I've just about given up on finding newer 35th badges on the sides of the clamshell for mine.

IS the point you want the 35th anniversary car and you plan to restore the one you found to new, or is it just that you found a good deal on one, and you want a cheap corvette?

If you want a 35th anniversary car, then buy the 18k one, that will be cheap compared to restoring one.

but if you want a cheap Corvette, don't pay extra for a "special edition" that you don't really care about.

Finding a running driving corvette with a clean title for 3-4k is about right, something that needs to be towed 2500-3500. They dont go below that as hot rodders will buy them just to take the front/rear suspension.

I really just want to know what you guys think a running driving 4spd 35th car is worth that needs paint and interior.
He wants 4000, and I offered $2500. He probably won't take it but if he does I want to be ready and feel good about it.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Shawn

They put it on ebay, here is the car I was looking at.

The paint is not as good as it looks in the pics. It needs paint.

So it needs paint and an interior. I'm sure weatherstripping plus God knows mechanically with 158k on it. I would stay away from it and find either a regular C4 ( no special edition stuff) or if you really want a 35th spend the $$$$ on a much nicer lower mileage car...would almost sell ya mine but it's not for sale.
