QUOTE=aklim;1591500838]Speed costs cubic dollars. Fast, reliable and cheap is a holy grail of car modding. You can have any 2 but never all 3. All the chip usually does is turn the fans on a little sooner from what I hear. IDK. I usually have a dyno chip done.

Even keeping a stock Corvette on the road ain't for the faint of wallet!!!

Nice things cost money. If you wanted a disposable car, they can be had for a few hundred bucks. Buy it, drive it, when it breaks, take the license plate off and buy another. It probably will cost more in the long run but most people don't see it that way.

I couldn't agree more, and didn't intend my comment as a criticism in any way. To me, a Corvette is like owning a Harley-Davidson: you are buying into a lifestyle as much as a vehicle. IMHO, the care and feeding is all part of the fun!

Keeping a C4 in good repair, stock costs the same as modifying it if you are doing the work properly.

No reason to stay stock imo

I would disagree. Stock, you are able to get parts easier and they all fit together. Modify it and we are in uncharted waters and time to fabricate costs.
