New Radio for C4 - 1984
I am getting back my 1984 car back from being restored. The original Bose radio is still in it. I want to change it to a unit that has Blue Tooth and Navigation.
Has anyone upgrade their radio?

You can possibly upgrade the existing Bose unit with a Bluetooth upgrade. There are several places that will do it and you can keep the stock appearance.
Buy a separate GPS unit and keep it stock, especially if it's back from being restored.

I have no idea why anyone needs an in dash nav anymore with smartphones and Siri/Cortana/etc...

If you do get a new one (and I really like the radio in my wife's 300 with bluetooth), I would suggest that you look at also getting one with an SD card/USB flash drive player, possibly without a CD player. I recently got a cheap one for my '79 Camaro and love being able to put ALL of my music on an SD card and not having to have CDs in the car. Plus don't have to worry about having the music I want handy.

Pioneer has several nice radios with all the bells and whistles but they are kind of pricey. I have a few different models in various rides including my 87 corvette. If money is an issue you will want to go with eonon.

Take the factory radio and put it and the speakers in a box and toss them in your attic for those guys who love that old crap. You do not need to cut anything. Just run new wires next to the factory ones. Then anyone can go back to that stock stuff.
You will like the car 1000 times more.
I have spent the big bucks on the navigation a few times. I find it is neat for a few weeks but not worth the additional $500. Look at the new apply play set up. They use your phone for the navigation and cost a lot less.
I just bought (an hour ago) the Kenwood DDX9902 from Dennis at Double D Mods. If you had a C5 and used this forum you should know the name. dennis@doubledmods.com email him, tell him Gordon just told you to contact him in the C4 forum. He will hook you up with everything needed at a great price. He is building a full system for my C4.
For those of you that love that junk bose stuff... I think I have two complete sets. 94 and 96.
Looks old, sounds old... forget it.
