Default 1989 C4 dipstick tube

Getting ready to install headers on my 1989 L98 C4. Dipstick tube broke at the flare when attempting to remove it. Luckily I was able to remove the broken end from the block w/o having to remove the oil pan. The original P/N 14084338 is discontinued. Do you know of any aftermarket products that will work? I keep reading where the Lokar Dipsticks are the incorrect size for passenger SBC.

I've NEVER had a need to but ............

I don't have a tube to measure or a block to test fit but I would try a "push to connect" fuel line steel tube to the block and check it's fit. If I could get a fit I'd buy bulk tubing, duplicate the flare and fabricate my own to length. I've never had a need to but I don't know why not. You have all of the pieces so ........

I'd try maybe the 5/16 first using maybe a Dorman 800-154 or the 3/8 800-155, the "push to connect" flare could be done locally likely less expensively than purchasing the tool.

This is a "push to connect" flare:

That actually maybe isn't a high price, that's shipped and it's going to require likely the "dimensional weight" cost factored in so ......
