Post Pics of your LT1 Engine Dressed Up
This is my first C4, a 1995 and I'm having fun with it. I would like to dress the engine up. I'd like to see some pics of other C4 LT1 Engines dressed. Just to get ideas. Also, where did you buy the dress up parts you used.
Thank You :-)
Thank You :-)

To me, nothing looks worse than some fancy chrome dress up parts with the rest of the engine bay being dirty.
Quite a few of the members hear have some great looking "dressed up" engine bays.
Mine is completely stock though.

What method did you guys use to clean your engine bay? I wiped away what I could with diluted simple green + microfiber, but there are crevices I can't reach.
I obviously don't want to drench my 93 LT1 with a hose because of the Optispark.
Thanks!

This my procharged, 355 CI LT-1 in my 93 coupe. My dress up is for function with the exception of my alternator and an LT-1 badge I had laying around. IMO the stock engine looks very nice when clean. I painted the fuel rail corvette lettering with testers model paint. The badge I got from mid America. It was used as a fender badge but I replaced it for a custom supercharged LT-1 badges.

First you need to make sure your engine is completely clean and looking factory fresh (or as close as you can get).

Cola I am also an OE nut. I have a C5 that's as clean as you can get. I plan in spending the summer on my new to me 95 C4 and getting it done right. Here's pic of my C5 bay. I know it's the wrong forum but were talking technique here.

Very Very nice you and Cola bear. Was the manifold red from factory or you paint it. I love that look. Very neat.

Cola Oh Yes. I'm retired living in FL and New England. Time & patience I have plenty of. My wife says I have OCD when it comes to a show ready engine compartment. I call it Love :-)

Then make sure everything is completely dry.
Last spray a little engine detailer over everything.
I use a product named CD2 - Engine Detailer, but I am not sure it is available anymore. At least it is very hard to find.
Last time I found some was a few years ago on Amazon.
But there are similar products out there.
"Black Magic" has one, but I haven't tried it yet.
A little engine heat after the hood is closed, will dry up any excess.
Once dry, there is no greasy, tacky or sticking feeling at all.
Most important to keep in mind. These Detailers are not cleaners.
If the engine is dirty, it will look worse after the detail.

Another item that helps give aluminum parts a natural look is Grade #0000 super fine steel wool. Use light gloves and eye protection when using and have an air compressor handy. Works good on control arms, bat wing, half shafts and other aluminum parts.
