Thats interesting, I have never noticed the Grand Sport wheels are more squared off than the A-molds. It's not an easily visable contour of the GS wheels due to the color of said wheels. You learn something new every day!

They only difference to the GM wheels are the color and offset of the 11' rears.

The machined lip makes it in my opinion. Otherwise the rim and the tire blend together.

I'm a SILVER fan on almost all color cars. I've never liked black wheels, Especially those flat black ones, they look like they belong on a Coal Mining Truck!

Well now I can have my cake and eat it too! My buddy with the Grand Sport replicas decided to give them up to me! I won't have to paint/powdercoat my silver wheels so I'll be able to have both sets depending on how I feel! What a great day this turned out to be! I'm pumped I have both sets now!

I know how you feel! I spend more time than I'd like to admit switching the wheels around!

Nice! I just like the idea that I certainly can switch if I want to. Of course at first I will only have one good set of tires so they will go on the first set I select but I do plan on getting another set of tires down the road.

As Car and Driver magazine recently said, black wheels are getting stale.
Every vehicle in the country, from the teen Latino's clapped-out Civic to the redneck's lifted F250 on 22's, has black wheels on it. I used to like them, but no longer do.

But there is a difference between a teenagers rattle can black wheels and an OEM set of painted black wheels. OEM wheels look good, rattle can wheels do not. I can see their opinion but I don't see black wheels leaving anytime soon, if anything they are still gaining ground on quite a few vehicles. If done tastefully they can look great, the ones that don't are the crap jobs where they rattle canned the wheels and the car at the same time with the same flat paint. (Another style I don't like, flat or semi-gloss paint on a car) Also I am personally getting sick of seeing the same black wheels on every freakin truck... They are all a very similar aftermarket style and they are ALL black...

I voted silver because I would prefer those over black. However if it were my car I would be going with chrome or polished aluminum.

black wheels make me think the hub caps fell off.

and

The production black wheels on new cars..watch they will be throwing them out in a few yrs it stopped being cool a long time ago

Few cars can pull off the look; very few.

Maybe do something different? Irridite? Translucent powedercoat? lots of colors out
Then it can look like an 80s bmx rim

My 12' Jeep Grand Cherokee Altitude (Red with black wheels and trim) looks awesome I personally think. I don't think black wheels are even close to being played out. The Rams with black instead of chrome look sweet too. Granted some cars can't pull off the look but when they do it looks good IMO. Tons of Chrome is a thing of the past. Sure it looks good but too much chrome is tacky now.

That's taking what I said out of context. That Jeep looks good BUT look at all the new cars. Every year the amount of chrome gets smaller.

My 04 has chromed standard wheels and I thought about changing to the ZO6 wheels but mine are easier to clean. I can reach through and wash inside the wheels (in the back only). I personally don't like black or aftermarket unless it meets a theme like a 50's Hotrod.
I look at what the young kids buy today and I'm glad to be older. I was just giving you the business and you saw right through me.

Yea I could see the Z06 wheels being a little tedious to clean. I'm not a big fan of aftermarket wheels either. I prefer stock wheels weather they are chrome or painted so long as they good good on the car! I do wish regular modern cars would have more personality. They are mostly so boring...

I'm a chrome wheel guy, just my preference. I do agree that a grand sport has to have black wheels.
