Expected Selling Price?: '96 CE LT4, 69k miles, more
Located in Tucson, AZ....my '96 CE LT4 with 69k miles, both tops, chrome AFS ZR1 wheels, silver ZR1 OEMs included, Grand Sport suspension, and many good mods done, absolutely nothing wrong with the car other than its just sits a lot, no body damage, etc.
I have it for sale on Craig's list locally, asking $10,500 for it and not even getting any interest.
Soooo am I not going to see any buyers until I am under $9k or even less??
Looking for comments.
Thanks,

Pretty sure gas monkey bought one cheap and laughed then sold it for what you are asking or more.
9-10 seems fair based on condition, REMEBER 10+ is c5 territory and that is a huge step up for most people.

Your price sounds about right to me.
The prices vary quite a bit. I see the low end of LT4 cars about 9k and up to about 15k. There are a few very high mileage or trashed cars less than that but yours doesn't sound like it is a basket case.
Last year I bought my CE LT4 for less than that, but mine needed some help (new top, new flywheel and clutch, shocks, and a bunch of little stuff). Now it seems to be a great car that I doubt if I would sell for your 10.5 asking price.
I would hold on to it until you get your price or pretty near, unless you are really anxious to get rid of it.
Good luck.

Wondering if you have advertised the car on the forum sales section? At least you will be getting eyes on the car that know what a LT4 is and who knows you might just find a new owner that will appreciate your LT4 as much as you do.
I looked up your ad on Craigslist and you are going to have a pretty limited market audience in Tuscon so I would really consider getting this on the for sale section of the forum and even Auto Trader which will open up your market considerably. Very nice LT4!!!

It boils down to supply and demand.Sounds like you got it priced right if the right person sees your ad.I'm fixing to sell a Ford truck. It will sell fast if I price it right.Cause it has the legendary 7.3 powerstroke.
Good Luck

pretty sure the one on gas monkey garage sold for 11.5k, and im sure it had more miles worse condition then yours, but then again never know if these shows are overpriced, or they sign the car to sweeten the deal whatever, who knows.

Hey thanks for the comments. Reason I do not have it listed here on the Forum is that doubt that any C4 buyer is willing to travel/ship and also pretty much have the Phoenix area covered as CraigsList provides listings from nearby areas which includes Tucson. Have actually had one individual contact me from Phoenix but his offer was for $8K.
Since pictures were asked for...here are a few:

The key is getting your car in front of the right person and the internet is the best way to do that with a specialty car like yours.

If you're not in a rush, then exhaust all possibilities (including this forum and others) and ask for more. It certainly looks very good condition, and extras. If you have all the documentation (or recent maintenance stuff) that's worth something to somebody. Remember when pricing nobody is going to ask if they can pay more and this is prime Corvette season - fall and winter, not so much....Good luck.

Whatever it sells for is its worth
Selling toys in this economy is tough for every +1000 opens a wide variety of neat stuff.
Me either, random lowball over email noone ever calls.
Tried to sell some parts on there a few yrs ago what showed up at my door..never again. If I cant ebay and make it worthwhile I throw it out. last place I moved from took 2 truckloads of brand new parts and threw them in a dumpster didnt have time for it
Had to report one guy who constantly has my ad flagged because I wont take his offer. "If you can build it for that, go for it and good luck" was my reponse.
We never get what we know they may be worth today, not like it used to be where people had extra $ and didnt mind paying a little more
Try Los Angeles, San Diego and Ventura Co Craigslist. Youll get some scumbags from LA but good exposure....people in SD and Ventura usually better quality people and less prone to timewaste. Only downside is there are a million C4s out there, so getting tops is a crapshoot. It will sell though.
Tuscon is a ltd market.

I haven't ever actually successfully sold a car on craigslist

That's a really nice car with lots of nice special items on it. Being an LT4 is a plus in your favor too. I have a nice LT4 and I think yours is even better. I think that is a very good price for a buyer for that nice of a well kept low mile LT4.

I think it takes a lot longer to sell sports cars in warmer climates than colder one IMHO. I recently decided to get rid of my 89 RX-7, put it on craigs list Thursday morning, sold Friday evening and that was after 1/2 dozen people contacting me about it.
I was shocked it went that quickly, but living in New Hampshire one doesn't see many RX-7s (or sports cars in general) that much, so maybe supply & demand rule kicked in.

I have been looking for the last several months for a 6 speed ( LT4 would be a bonus) and many I have seen listed are priced higher with similar miles and condition, less the LT4. In fact I have been thinking about this car and price since I first saw this post yesterday and imagining a very fun cross country trip home, hmmm.

FYI....
I bought Lanny's 95 a few years back. This car was has daughters and had about double the miles that his 96 has. The mileage did not bother me. Car was in great condition. I flew in and he picked me up at the airport in the car. I drove the car back to California without issues. He keeps his cars in excellent condition. I made the transaction as easy as possible for both of us. We went to his bank and I transferred the funds directly to his account. To this day, we still stay in touch and I keep him informed with pictures and emails on the condition of "his car".
GREAT GUY.
FWC, you should not have any problems with the car and it would be a great road trip back home .

I think your price is right, your exposure is wrong. Craigslist buyers always want to try to haggle a significant amount off the price of the car - you have to go in knowing that. hey mostly think they're expert negotiators and that they're basically desperate to sell the cars on craigslist - I know this because 2 of my good friends are like this (My friend offered a guy 4k on a truck he was asking 8k, in a rare exception to CL it wasn't because that's all he had, it's because he's a cheap *** who feels the need to try to haggle people to mind blowingly low prices).
Put it on autotrader, take it to some car shows with a FS sign in it, put it on the forums, those will all be better places to sell that car than CL.
