Default Bendix MKD294 brake pads.....really?

Hey all,

I got a pack of Bendix MKD294 I ordered from Amazon. The actual pads inside are stuffed in there with magazine pages, which makes sense; bouncing around in USPS would be bad.

However, the pads don't look like images on the 'Net. Did I get screwed?

Such as:
Amazon.com: Bendix MKD294 Semi-Metallic Brake Pad Set: Automotive Amazon.com: Bendix MKD294 Semi-Metallic Brake Pad Set: Automotive

or

http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1371632

Anyone else who had a set of these, are either of those pics correct?

Mine are plain, similar to rockauto's pics but no blue portion in the center.

Also noted from the package these were produced in 1993 or so. Noted from Bendix.com they are discontinued, odd so many have them for sale.

What did you want these to fit? The 294 is generally a FMSI ID for the pad. The FMSI 294 Is an early '84 - '87 front. Is that what you intended?

If you GOOGLE FMSI D294 you should get accurate images.

Was there a box or box-top of any sort? Did you pay the "higher" asking or use one of the "lesser" priced options on Amazon?

EBC has very accurate images:

Yes, these pads were for the front of my '87.

They came in a Bendix mkd294 box, I want to make sure the correct pads were in there.

EBC link, didn't see the Bendix there.

You don't need BENDIX - you're only trying to ID the D294 pad. If your in the "newswrap" matches the EBC D294 you're good. I gave you the EBC link because it includes dimensions. The image and a ruler should answer all questions.

***The discontinued is likely only because of the antiquated application of the product. There's very little/NO interest I'd think by major manufacturers. Slow movers in the AP stores, inventories bought up by the likes of RA.

Sorry, no. I'm trying to verify these are Bendix-made pads. I know they fit fine, I already installed them.

Bendix was supposed to have better quality than cheapies, trying to make sure I didn't get shipped cheapies in a Bendix box.
