Looks decent if prep would have been better.

I like it! While I'm not a fan of the matt finish that is so popular now it looks a lot better than the ratty-*** paint that was on there. Great creativity. I've seen some pretty crazy things folks do with plastidip. I agree about the cost of a paint job. I'd probably send mine through Macco for their $399 special before I spent $10 grand plus on paint.

So because they don't do it the way you do it, they are a no talent hack?

Why did you post a picture of a Caprice?

Beautiful black finish. Black rewards a fine prep job more than any other color. No imperfection is too small to notice.

This video is one step away from using rattle cans. I'm still unsure if it is a step UP. With all the crappy masking he might have been better off using a brush. I bet the loose stuff on the b pillars starts peeling off at highway speed.

Good luck to him.

I put up a pic of my caprice to make a point about quality vs hackology

it takes about 12 hours to prep a car including glass removal, any thing less is nothing but hack work at best

hack work depreciates value, quality work increases a cars value

any questions

To remove glass prep and paint a black car costs a ton
It would take 8k to just prep block and respray mine black. Probably add only 1000 or so to resale done it 3 times already in 14 yrs due again.

Gotta work with what ya got!

he could of just shot it with single stage and it would have came out just as good, but would have paint. I see issues with it peeling off...just my .02!

I had some really great laughs when I watched the video on YouTube. Not because he was plasti dipping the car because I know it is not always possible to repaint a car with the cost involved but rather I laughed because of some of the things he said in the video and the fact that his friend showed up on company time driving his work van-sure the county or city that he works for might have something to say about that if they saw the video.:rof l:

Actually come to think about it the funniest thing about the whole video was one of the comments that was made under the video on YouTube and the guys response to that comment-very funny stuff-worth looking it up if you have not read it yet-LOL!!
