Yes you can do that, they are 10mm bolts if I remember right.

Also look at pics on google for c4 for hood release, you'll see you can maybe get ahold of the cable down in front of the windshield on either side under the hood.

the hood release tool cost around 20 bucks. call a lock smith, 50 bucks, look on your face when he shows you how easy it is to open a door.. priceless.

You can buy a special tool that lets you open the hood from outside. Look in the Vette parts magazines.

I think that tool requires the driver's door to be open. It goes in above the upper door hinge.

Try a key in the other door.

If you only have one key, see if the dealer can make another one from the VIN number.

Good luck.

Certainly the "better" idea.

UserID hints the car is a '92 so I'd think a dealer could request the "original" mechanical codes from GM.

Just jack the car up and connect to the starter cable and a ground and charge the battery.

Sounds like a rather asinine suggestion from someone who "says" he lost a friend in a working under a "jacked up" vehicle. QCVette offered up the more practical and maybe least expensive approach. A "brick" will always gain entry!!

I see your panties are still in a wad. what did I ever do to you that causes you to around looking for anything I post trying to insult me?
So explain why my method will not work and how much it would cost.
If you are going to refer to other posts of mine please take the time to get them right.
Sorry I did not idiot proof it for YOU always block your car up for safety.

I do not see QCVette posted anything of the sort are you trolling him too? Please explain your use of a brick being the most practical and least expensive always wanting to learn.
