Default Power Seat track problem

Hi All
Happy 4th.

My seat tracks motors seem to be working but the seat does not adjust if I am sitting in it. I suppose my weight is loading the system too much. I am not fat, I am 160 lbs.

IfI get out of the car and reach over and adjust the seat button while putting some pressure of the seat bottom, I can get the seat to move up/down. forward and back and tilt.

Is this easily fixed or do I need to buy a seat track from one of the dealers. ???

Dan

Trying to fix the seat track unit (eg, replace the transmission) is a lot of work IMO. I looked at doing that, but decided to buy a rebuilt seat track instead. You may also find good used ones for sale here.

Good luck.

Dan I did this recently via Ecklers. I was having the same problem you relate on the passenger side it got worse and refused to move forward without forceful coaxing. I suggest just buying a rebuilt transmission entire track replacement while the corvette after market sales are still running on over the holiday weekend. They charge a core charge but the turn around is less than 10 days when you ship the core back. Keep in mind all the years that the seat has been performing it's function and it's just a factor of time. Fairly easy job especially if you can still move the seat backwards and forwards to be able to reach the seat bolts. Happy 4th to you as well. GC

Thanks. Your suggestion makes sense. Have a good 4th.,
