Thanks for the well wishes.
Had the surgery at the Indianapolis VA hosp. Great folks and very kind nurses. It didn't go as well as hoped. When I woke after surgery, they wanted me to wak. hey. no problem, then BANG..stroke. A little tiny blood clot went into an even smaller vein. That vein feeds part of the eyes thinymajiggy that controls perphisl vision. I now cannoy see anything to the left of
my nose. just a big blind spot. WVZ, usually they want a driver to wait at least 3 months..hopefull that's sll I have to do. S Fr as the vette goes, at this time I canot drive any car. I am hopping for improvement as I am sometimes seeing flickers of movement on my left side. otherwise, I am just sore as heck and tire very easy. Dang hard to type too, lol. Good time to put on the stuff I have bought for it, but ita either too heavy or I have to spend time bent over/. I really don't want to grt rid of the vette, spent my entire life lusting after one and its the first vette my wife ever not only rode in, but had a bit of fun squealing the tires 9 muvh to her surprise. Thank youi for your support and all the kindness shown my way and letting me be part of this incredible grop of lime minded folks, boys and gals. Aint going anywhere, but hard to siy at this table /desk for long. Oh, I hope your MOM came thru t\thisd trial with as lityle pain and loss as possible. tahnks, fred alvis. Best wishes and we'll look for you soon! How long will the surgery keep you from behind the wheel of the tractor?
I'd think you'll be posting certainly in a week, likely less if you've one of those speaking apps.
Assign the "posting duties" to someone to let us know how you're doing!

I had a 5 way bypass in 99. They gave me a small teddy bear , Mr. Pain Bear (that is what the nurses called him). The idea is if you have to cough or sneeze you hug the bear as tight as you can. Of course, a small pillow will also work.
Things should go well. Good luck.
The bear is over the fireplace.

Prayers are with you and Cat's mom both for a speedy recovery.
I NEVER say "I know how you feel" because I don't. I do understand very well what you are feeling because I underwent kidney cancer surgery in Oct. 2015. There is an uncertainty as you are wheeled through the operating room doors that you have certainly earned.
DO NOT BE AFRAID to ask questions as you are being prepped for surgery in the morning. Everyone from the nurses to the anestheologist are professionals and they will be happy to answer your questions.

You will come out of this just fine. They will have you up and walking in two days.....sadists. It will take you a good 6 months or more to recover to the point your at now. Don't think that you will get their sooner.
Will be thinking of you all day tomorrow. IF you own a C4, I know that your tough. Keep a positive attitude all the way!!!!

We wish you good luck tomorrow and a speedy recovery.
I know it is really scary before the surgery, but it is amazing how good they can do heart surgery now. (I had a bypass 10 years ago and an aortic valve replaced about 3 months ago)
We hope to hear back from you in a few days to tell us how well it went.
