Default C4 serpentine belt for 1993 LT1- ridges on both sides?

Would somebody please help?

My AC compressor just took a dump so I'm replacing it along with the serpentine belt.

My issue: The serpentine belt that is in my 1993 coupe has ridges on both sides of the belt.

The problem: My mechanic purchased a belt from a local dealer, GM Genuine part #10230259 (6RIB1698MM) (ridges on one side, flat on the other)

The pullies on the car all have ridges and it looks like my original belt is the correct belt.

I found a Dayco belt on Ebay part #6060673 (6PKK170) that appears to be the same size (length) as the GM belt but this has ridges on both sides.

My question: Which is the correct belt to use on my vehicle?

My 92 has ridges on both sides of the belt, and the one that was on it before has ridges on both sides. I am pretty sure all the pulleys have grooves on both sides so the belt should be the same. according to what I have read, the belt your mechanic bought is for 94-96 vettes.

It can be either kinda. The 1992 and early 93s were built with the 2 sided belt so if that's what you have that's what you need. After March 22,1993 they were built with single sided belt. To install single sided belt on earlier cars several pulleys will need replaced refer to following TSB

When I bought my ´93, it had only 6.000 miles and the OE belt had ridges on one side. Changed it with one sided AC Delco belt (don´t remember #). Today, 7k miles later, no problem.

I read through the service bulletin. Looks like mine is the early 93. All of the pulleys are grooved like the double sided belt.

I thought for a minute about changing the pulleys but looks like the cheaper repair is the just replace the belt.

The old belt isn't frayed at all (as described in the service bulletin, it looks like that wasn't a big problem) and I will keep an eye on it for any abnormal wear.,

OP - why would you be shopping eBay? Have the fellow doing the work exchange the part "local" OR get refund and buy correct "local" - I'd think a local parts house would have the correct belt the NEXT day!!

Go to a napa store. My 93 has the single sided. To convert over from the double sided need to replace power steering pulley and the two tension ones to smooth ones. The power steering pulley is expensive but a used one could be found from a late 93 to 96 lt1. Many 92 and early 93s switched over as the single sided wear longer.

I did buy local only to realize that the local guy tried to convince me that the single sided belt was the one I needed.
With all due respect, he had his chance. Now it seems I have the belt I need.
If you attach the name Corvette to anything the price seems to go up. I'm just a normal guy with a normal budget.. I support local companies but not when it's against the better interest of myself or my Vette..

I think I will shop around for the pulleys and keep the new, locally purchased belt for future replacement.
Already have a bunch of money wrapped up in the compressor. I just want to drive it this summer..

I just put a belt on my 92. Ribbed on both sides.

When one side wears out, flip it over and use it again, like underwear!

if your 93 indeed has the dual sided belt, the dayco part number 6060673 is correct. additional, alternate part numbers are, gates part number DK060674 and ACDELCO 6DK674. the delco part is labeled as "professional," so it's most likely a third party part. I would go with the gates or dayco belt. my 2-cents and no flames but, if I have to make an additional trip for local, I might as well hit the enter button and wait for the UPS guy.

As far as changing pulleys, that's like changing a motor because the oil filter is dirty. Just put the right belt on and cruz.
