Been an AFSB owner for 10 years. It was the answer to the design flaw in the chassis requiring a t-top but addressed with a huge side rail. The front to back torsion hinge is unacceptable without the top in. The piece holds both lateral and front to back flex to ZERO. The car feels fantastic and the close to convertible feel is worth the money. I use a Carbrella Targa Cover for the garage and sweltering parking lots when deployed.

Try 130 with it on and try to hear anything for an hour. So fun.

Glad Tom has responded to a command performance. You will love it.

I think this article explains it well, even if it is from 2002.

You'll notice a complete lack of data in that article. They never even tested it at an autocross. Same on them.

I think all of the anecdotal evidence here is correct. Things feel different with the bar in place. The truss bar will though make the car a little quieter which seems to be the concern here. The car doesn't get any faster though.

On the other hand i do have a Doug Rippie roll bar in my car. It might do something but I'm not sure.

This was the fastest C4 in the country and it always ran with the top off.

For people that want to autocross it's too bad they didn't test it that way. I am concerned about the noise, but also why it makes that noise. If there is less flex with the bar in place I think that should help the longevity of the car. I hope to keep my '92 as long as I am able to drive it. What, if anything, does the car you show use for bracing/rigidity? Has anyone ever tested an otherwise stock C4 with the bar in and out on a course or skidpad? Could the flex actually help handling in any way?

Took me "threeish" weeks to get mine. Was worth the wait. My vette drives nice and tight with it in place.

I have dumb question regarding these braces.

Are they meant to be permanently mounted or only when you have the top off?

Thanks.

The brace uses the four targa top mounting points so yes, the targa top must be removed.

Patience is a great virtue. My Targa Bar took about 6+ weeks. Tom was very communicative and a pleasure to do business with.

Now if all businesses were like Tom the world would be sooooooo much fun to deal with

Tom called me yesterday evening with a tracking number. I should be getting it Thursday and he said to call for details on installation.
