Your car looks a lot like mine in some ways when I started with it, although yours is atleast an 86. I'd do the minimum for cosmetics on the car besides the seat, drive the car and enjoy it work on it very slowly overtime, don't overwhelm yourself!

Yes it runs like a dream. It idles a little low and or rough but it should be an easy fix. It runs very well though. Only 120k miles

I also have a silver/red '86. Nice car. Take your time and do things slowly, you will develop a sense of what your priorities are. To me the interior was always important because it's the environment that I'm in when I drive. The exterior came later.

indeed i will. yes the interior is important to me, but i still will do the low cost macco paint job as soon as possible if i can. i figure if i have it painted the same color, one lay will do nicely, rather than having it painted one layer of say... yellow... and i am looking into seats like above suggested. even though they werent a concern, i am looking at the price of after market leather ones.

I'm getting red spray paint and I'm painting my interior red now! That looks awesome. To the guy that also has a silver/red car would you post some pics of your interior so i can see one in good condition? Thank you

Save your money and pass on Maaco. That paint is not so bad. You could lightly sand the flaking clear coat and just shoot those areas if it bugs you. But you'll have your hands full (and your wallet not so much) just sorting the interior. Plus, you'll never get as good a paint job as the one it wore leaving Bowling Green. Anything you can do to preserve that paint job will be to your advantage.

Maaco is what you do to an old Toyota that you want to sell.

Congrats on a beautiful ride!

No apologies needed. I'm still giggling. Aren't computers great?!? Can't wait to be on the road alongside self-driving tractor trailer rigs.

These are cheap car's and they're either drivers or show cars pretty much, grey should be pretty easy to do, hell i'd give it a shot with a rattle can clear coat and sand paper and buff it before I bring it to maaco, the front bumper seems fairly easy.

Yes. As if we needed any further proof of runaway corporate greed, they are prepping a truck that goes long haul without a driver. It's name is Otto.

Don't worry. Even if it works, they'll still need your help in the city.
