Who's Goin' to Carlisle General Thread
Just like it says,
Who's going to Carlisle ? We are going on Saturday. Going to leave Akron area around 5'ish Sat morning and drive over, probably get there 10'ish.
If anyone else is going and can suggest a general spot for a meet and greet, I am all in for it. Say 1:00/2:00'ish (other suggestions also).
We are bringing my buddy Curtis (he has a black '90 couple). He is the one that is responsible for replanting the bug to get another Vette into my mind.
Of course we are not bringing the Vette, it would be hard to cram all 3 of us in there. Probably my wife's Cruz or my diesel crew cab pickup. With the suspension mods I did to it, it rides as nice as most cars.

now why do you say that ?
it is a 4 1/2 hr drive from my house. we just want to go over and wander around and look at cars and stuff for 5 to 6 hrs, we can see a lot in that amount of time.
my friend works Friday and so does my wife, so Saturday is our option

by sat around 2-3 most small vendors pack up and leave. and you can't see just about a 1/4 of the field in the time you want to be there. figure out a way to be there by 8 am on sat.

we are not going there to buy, so if they pack up and leave a day early, it doesn't affect us, we are going for the day trip and to wander around and see cars, etc.

Drifting
I go almost every year on Sat. Its about 2 hours from my house, I leave about 5am, get there at 7am. when the gates open. Usually cruise the used parts first, then the new parts. ( I have two vettes to feed ) I take all my stuff to the car that I bought, then spend the rest of my time looking at other vettes. I am there till about 3 or 4pm, then call it a day. My oldest is not able to make it this year and my 10 year son is not interested. Though I might be sad they aren't going, it will be quiet and at my pace.

I live about 80 miles south of Carlisle. Plan on being there around 7am Saturday and spending the day.
Been to many Carlisle events over the last 25 years. This will be my first time at the Corvette event.
