I don't see any issues with your son driving it at all
Now they make the device you can monitor how he is driving - if they had those when I was starting out I never would of made it out of my parents driveway.

Then give him the car. Or if you are afraid for him, take the so and so's advice and give ME the car/.

Kinda hypocritical, aint it? "Don't do what I did when I was your age.".

No - my son suggested it to my mother-in-law when she heard about it. He didn't want her to worry and said he would be okay with one in his car.

You already have one - he's just joining the club.

Don't deprive him as he already knows it is for him .Your friend that gave it for him must have thougt about it first.Give the kid a chance to prove himself.Everyone has to learn respect for what they have.

My friend ran it by me first, and then I ran it by my wife. We're good with it as he really is a great kid - I got lucky with him, as I was a handful at his age. He loves the car and I have already let him drive it a few times on my secrete private parking lot. I was just hoping to read some other member's stories to tell my mother-in-law.

True. Besides, I'm not sure there is much to prove since he is going to be 18 and is legally able to make decisions. We are not rednecks where "Old enough to bleed, old enough to breed" is the mantra. As they say, your right to swing your fist end where my nose begins. So if you cause my rates to go up, you are going to pay for it. Beyond that, I will help you out where I can.

Dad, you sound like you raised a good kid and your judgment is sound. Go with your instincts.

Exactly.

He sounds like a good kid, but he is still just a kid. My concerns would be more about reliability and safety features on a 25-year-old car. You don't want your kid stranded. Or injured.

I recall reading somewhere that the most reckless/dangerous drivers are young men in pickup trucks, so I don't think the C4 is the issue.

It's a beautiful car -- I'm envious!

I have AAA road service that covers all my vehicles for up to a 200 mile tow. The car runs good and he would not be going out of the county in it for some time. I'll help him keep it running any way I can - and if it doesn't work out he can sell it and buy something else.

It would probably be a good panty dropper. Don't forget to put a box of Trojans in the glove.

Get him to adopt you, send the other guy to England where they drive on different sides of the road so you can't bring the C4 there. Problem solved.

Make sure he doesn't blow up the motor in Ft Wayne Indiana otherwise the tow would be to Decatur and we both know what happens there.

It's going to be hard to use them in that car - I can't see getting very lucky in that tight a cockpit.

2 things. When you are young, you can contort yourself into all sorts of positions to get laid. Also, if the car runs, it gets him and the girl to a motel where he CAN use the Trojans.
