Are C4s getting cheaper..?
Wasn't on the forum or doing anything C4 related for like a month, month and a half.
I was surprised to see some good condition LT4s priced around 10k w/ like 100kish miles maybe more don't remember.
Is this a sign? lol I'm not crying about it, I'm not a seller. I'm actually looking for a friend who saw my C4 and started looking for some right away
And I've noticed guys here saying their C4s are starting to get attention. So the attention is going up but prices maybe going down. Perfect buyer storm?! $#!t I will get me a DD at this rate

Melting Slicks
I would guess they're pretty much rock bottom, only going to go up from now, but who knows! You could buy mine and make it a daily driver for real cheap

Just did a look on CL. $7K for a 93 with 135K miles. $36K for a 96 GS with 16K miles. $6400 for a 98 coupe with 140K miles. Couple of 84's for about $5500. 92 with 52K miles for $8500.
Prices are all over the place here. I am not sure they've bottomed out but they're close in most areas. I bought my 86 3 years ago at a car auction so I got a pretty good price and have nothing to complain about.

At the risk of being picky: they are getting less expensive, not cheaper. Cheap reflects on quality, not cost.

It seems they're hitting the spot C3's were in a few years ago. I remember when you couldn't give them away. Now they're shooting up quick.
C4's seem to be bottoming out. I've seen some really clean high mile cars for under $5k, and they were even LT1 cars. Low mile cars can be had in amazing shape for under $10k.
Even ZR1's seem to have dropped pretty low. Clean cars in the low $20'k range.

This is an interesting topic.
I've been hell-bent on buying a 96 LT4 for two months.
I either see cars with high miles go for $7 - 8K or cars with low mileage asking $13 - $17K.
Some folks are just plain crazy in their ask prices, especially the dealers. I'd think a nice 96 LT4 with 50K miles should be $10K.
The reality is these are 20 - 30 year old cars, with 20 - 30 year old parts that are getting harder to find.
I think the C4's are getting to the point of becoming not relevant. You can get a decent C5 for not a whole lot more coin. And its a fresher car, with more readily available parts.

Price wise, the C-4 is at the bottom of the corvette food chain. Even the late model, plastic pigs of c-3 fame go for more bucks.Base model c-4 vettes are not going to go up in price for years to come and if thats why you bought your c-4 ( a regular example) your in the hobby for the wrong reason. just my opinion.
