New guy here, although I've been lurking a bit.
Found this '91 on Craigslist in Greenville, SC last weekend. 103k, 6-speed. Owner said it was running poorly, hard to start, etc.
Long story short I picked it up for $4000, drove it 100 miles back to north Georgia. Ran like crap but it turned out to be a bad fuel pressure regulator and a couple of fouled plugs. Got those fixed and it runs much, much better.
Best part is it's one of 733 Z07 cars built in '91. Needs a few other things but I'm pretty happy with it.

It is indeed steel blue. The clear on the plastic in front of the hood and the tail panel is a bit oxidized but the rest of the paint is decent and I should be able to polish it up a bit.
The real reason I bought the car though was to build an autocross/track day toy out of it. I will be upgrading/freshening the suspension over the next few months and it will be getting an LS swap after the first of the year.

If the paint looks as good as it does in the pictures and the interior does, I'd say this is a pretty good deal...even with that much miles.

those 84 prices are crazy! If a guy wants to build a track car, 84 is where its at!!

I live in Taunton if you would like me to take a look at the '86 for you.
I have owned a few C4's and I am pretty good at knowing what to look for.
PM me if interested

You need to look in LA or Ventura co man. Way less for way more car. Youll sort through a ton of roaches though.
If he wont even buy a battery for it (more than likely drains it overnight) whats that say about the car

The "Street Legal Track Race Corvette" has a 2nd listing:
http://worcester.craigslist.org/cto/5785010308.html
some pics below. different views of the engine. i emailed the guy and asked him if the 435 HP engine was a 383 Stroker. he said: how did you guess? I didn't respond back, but figured he had to do something to the L98 engine to get it to 435 HP! it still looks interesting to me, it would be a long drive back to home!!!! and my wife would kill me!!!!

here are the 2 interiors BrandonsBeast is talking about:
yea, i just opened both of them in separate windows and it looks to be a bit odd. now my first comment would be: if you are going to sell your car clean it up a bit. which is what i did when i sold my 2000 Vette back in May. i mean vacuum it a bit, wet cloth over seats surfaces, etc.
and i took my exteriors pics after the body shop had totally cleaned my car (far better i would and they had the WHEELS sparkling!!!). so i had nice pics to use.
they look like 2 different interiors to me.

Just noticed, difference between the Center switch on the console, not sure what that is as I don't know late C4 interiors, the middle switch is either different, missing, or just at an odd angle in the first picture. Now you guys see why I didn't link that one in my first listing, once you buy a C4 like I did, these things stick out like a sore thumb

ok, i got a very cryptic message from the seller of the "street legal track race car". the original ad i was looking at is now down, and he has a new one up:
http://worcester.craigslist.org/cto/5812327522.html
the ad's header is:
Chevrolet Corvette 6.2 460HP 6 Speed Manual - $6000 (Oxford)
and ad says:
It's an Corvette heavily modified 6.2 putting out 460 Horsepower and has many ZR-1 and z06 parts as well front brake conversion and beefier transmission. It's a registered street legal race car what else can I explain or say about the car they had never been any issues. It starts everytime and drives perfect and very fast it push you back in your seat SO $6,000 CASH NO LESS and TEXT
and he has his original engine pic:
just seems odd, that the original ad said: 435HP, and now it's up to 460 HP, and he has the engine at 6.2...which isn't that the size of the new C7 engine? just seems odd....and perhaps a bit comical....

Needs a few other things but I'm pretty happy with it.

dkm - You new purchase will make a great track car. Just don't spend money on aftermarket parts for a while.
You might want some tires but that should be it. Get the car running well and then just drive it.
Track days will cost you a little over $1,000 a day when you add up the motels, entry fees, food and gas Ok, maybe $1,500.
Most people never return to track days after running one or two events. You need to spend the first year just driving what you have.
This is what happens when you get too carried away
