Default Scored a spare tire ($75)

Not sure if thats a good price, but....

I took the vette on an 1.5hr drive to see my kid play football and my wife was nervous about the car breaking down (I-95 and some areas you don't want to break down).

Before we took off, I said to her you know this car has no spare....vroom...I did bring a can of fix a flat

I have AAA 100 mile tow package, but my question is should I buy the jack and other parts (under car storage)? I had planned on just putting the spare in the back and calling AAA to jack it up and put it on if I had a flat...

Thoughts?

I assume you have the factory spare tire delete option?

Run flats = $$......plus the tires are fairly new

probably deleted (I'm new to the vette scene ), there is that aluminum bar underneath

If you want to find out if you have a delete kit installed you can take a picture of it and post it or post your RPO codes. IIRC factory spare delete kits were fairly rare.

I guess for weight reasons....

I'll check the code (any idea what the number/letter would be?)

For a 1996 the RPO would be N84.

From what I found there were only 986 spare tire delete options made in 1996.

Walmart

Tire compressor and tire plug kit under $30
Keep pliers and screwdriver to pull out whatever you ran over

They are simple to use your wife probably could. Just get the plug ready before pulling the screw out, soon as it pulls out stuff it in then youre done no need to even trim the excess off. Never had one leak even when the tread was real low

Between that and AAA you shouldnt get stuck fix a flat doesnt always do the trick

Oh and a spare fuse for the cig lighter circuit. A kit like this takes hardly any room even if it sits for yrs its worth it in case

Keep this in ea of my cars saved me every time excpet once I ran over a 7/16 dia bolt. In the desert
