Fusible link
Hi all,
Im having an intermittent power issue on my 85. I had to extend all the wires that go to the starter when i installed a set of headers due to a mini starter swap. I have a 1 wire in and 2 wire out fusible link that I think is the problem. I see the number 6 and 16 on the plastic part my FSM makes reference to fusible link a b and c going to the starter but I can't figure out which one this is so I can buy a replacement.

Are these the links you're referencing? Which? You can check the component that each powers with the links removed one at a time from the starter. Your FSM should be pretty straight forward if you've gotten as far as you've gone. This is a "snapshot" from POWER DISTRIBUTION in the FSM 102 maybe

I believe my problem us the a fusible link because its the only one with 2 wires coming out. I went to advance and O'Reilly auto but couldn't find exactly what I think I need. Should I split them into 2 separate fuse links? Wiring is not a strong point for me so any help is appreciated.

Yes that is the generally accepted progression - numerically 4 greater than the wire in the circuit to be protected. Length is generally something 9" or less BUT I believe if you buy "off the shelf" with a ring terminal already attached they'll generally be 6" length.
