How do i lower the suspension on my C4 ???
I have never owned a car with transverse leaf springs before. How do I go about lowering it 2 inches all around ?
I have been told that there lowering kit's for it.
What do they consist of ?
And how do they work ?
Also any idea as to the cost of these kits ?

Use the search. Their are lots of threads. I don't have any bookmarked or I would give you a link.
Lowering kit is about $50.00. But I don't think you can get 2" from it.
I think you may need to go coilovers for that. $1,000 + for that.
My lowering kit is still sitting on the shelf as it takes a lot of work for the front. Rear is easy.
Someday I will get of my lazy a$$ and lower it.

As Ron said, the back is really easy.
However, the front is a PITA, and you would not get a 2" drop without coil-overs. Be careful what you wish for....you'll bottom out on everything.

You can get it pretty low with the lowering kit without using coil overs. If the drop is not low enough in the front for you with the lowering kit alone, cut the tabs off the spring ends. I dropped mine back in 2005 and haven't looked back.

My car measures 45" at the top now - everyday I nearly get hit by the hi-rise trucks and bimbo SUVs changing lanes because they are too busy texting on their %^#@*! Cell phones and don't see me. And you want to go lower - lol!!!

The rear is very easy.
The front is a really big deal. The front spring has to come out. Check out the various threads.

Considering all the disadvantages to making a car so extremely low, I wonder what the benefits would be...?
Handling advantage on-track?
Or just for vanity or "looking cool" ?
Guess I just don't get it, and that's OK

Here is where I ended up after all of the work. I'm not sure at this point if I closed the fender/tire gap with the new springs or the new tires.
At any rate I now have to be careful getting on and off the trailer.

The front is somewhat of a big deal, I took mine to a buddy's shop for them to do the wedges for me as I didn't feel like disassembling a portion of the front to do it in the garage.
The rear bolts that nearly all kits include are 10" vs the 9" oems BUT there's a corvette vendor on eBay and maybe on here that sells 11" bolts of the correct spec (wouldn't want that bolt breaking) and the kit comes with bushings as that's the one I used.
I couldn't stand the way it looked before lowering - Goodluck and pay no attention to the peanut gallery

Yup. I bottom out far too often now. But it looks and handles so much better! I'm remembering the old adage that every time you modify the car, you lose a bit of driveability. Well, it's true.
