93 C4 parking brake won't disengage

Thanks for all the help It wasn't stuck,I wasn't doing it right.

If the brake is engaged, there would be no tension till you release but the pads would have to be engaged. If the pads are not contacting the rotors, there should be tension. I'm confused.

Default Apparently I didn't pull it back far enough. I was scared I may break something.

That happens a lot.

When I bought my '88 from a dealer I negotiated a better price because they said the brakes were stuck on. Their service department said it was not driveable.

After I bought it, I showed them how to release the brake and it worked fine.

The C4 parking brake is one of the best theft deterrents ever put on a car! If nobody shows you how to work them, you'll never figure them out!

So do they stop the car when you engage them properly or what?
