Horn issue...
Security system has been going off randomly lately, and horn would blow a week ago. Was out of town some last week, and I think it must have gone off a lot as battery was weak and needed a charge yesterday, and I realized horn was not sounding when locking or pressing horn. checked 15a fuse and it was blown, replaced it but it still doesn't work.
When I was driving today, the locks would sometimes cycle several times under hard acceleration a couple times, like it had a bad connection. Later when driving home, it didn't do it. Seems like somethings up with the security system, but why is horn still out?
I have not checked for codes yet.
Any ideas?

Jump the horn itself with 12 volts might just be bad if good replace the horn buttons mine crumbled on my 94 I got new one's off ebay for 60 bucks. And pull the plungers on your door switches all the way out and close the door gently to ajust.

When I got my 95 a few months back the PO told me that the alarm went off and then the horns quit working. When I took the Air Bag off, the switches were in pieces. Run a hot wire to the horns and neither one of them worked. Got the new switches off ebay and bought a pair of cheap horns at a local parts store. Even before I connected the horns, I used a test light to check the switches and the alarm was on so use the key to lock and unlock the drivers side door and that stopped that. Connected the horns and life is good.

Thanks guys, I will use your suggestions and check it out when I get time.
I hope it is not the switches in the wheel, sounds like a PIA to change.
Don't you think it is odd the security systems is acting up, locks cycling when driving, and the blown horn fuse? Seems like the horn is more of a symptom of the security system, and not the root cause.

Opened the steering wheel and the switches were not too bad. The left one looks fine, and the right one was together but cracked and when I pulled on it the top came off and pieces fell off. I may just try to glue together since the electronics look fine. and since I don't think they are the issue. I think the horns may be bad, especially since it was not beeping when the doors would lock. But since they were just working not long ago, does it make sense that they would be broken? Also the blown fuse still concerns me, and what caused it, seems odd.

When I got my car the po said that the alarm went off and then quit and the horns never worked again. I took the air bag off and both of the horn buttons were all broken up. Run a 12 volt hot wire to each horn and nothing there either. Pull them and still no go. Bought new switches on ebay and a cheap set of horns from a parts store. Problem fixed for around 100 bucks.

I tested the horns with a wire to the battery, and no sound. I did hear a clicking sound on one, like a relay when it was still in the car. I removed them and tried again, nothing.

Installed new horns, and they work, much louder than it was when the alarm locks.
But...the switches in the wheel don't work. I JB Welded the one case together, but neither seem to work. They are very simple, so figured as long as they make contact it would work. The positive end where the 2 wires come together from each switch has a spring on the end and then the contact. I am not sure why the spring is needed? It seems you just push it in the wheel hole and that is it, doesn't seem to lock in or anything.
I guess I will order new switches, unless someone thinks the positive wires with the spring is not seated correctly?

Tried again but cannot seem to get the tube locked in. I guess I will order a new switch assembly. The thing I am concerned about is even when I press the + contact wires down hard and hold, and press switch, nothing happens. There is not much to these things, so I am wondering if they work and there is another issue, but maybe I just cannot see where there is a break in the circuit.
Would the horn sound when car locks doors, if the horn relay or 2nd fuse, behind info. console was bad? Are these only for the manual switches and not for security system sounding horns?

Did you check the fuse?
