Default I'm back!!!!

After a 15 year absence of owning a C4 , I'm back in the club. I purchased a triple black 1991 convertible yesterday for a surprise gift for my wife's birthday.

On the old forum I went by either tsquare or tsq396 I don't remember. Back then I owned a low mileage '87 Metallica red A4 2.95

The '91 is in excellent condition and was taken car of. It does have its small detail issues but nothing I cannot fix myself or be guided by the forum.

I wanted to know what vendors to go tnrough . Im sure some of the same players are still around from 15 year ago but times change.

I have a some door weatherstripping to replace ,a few interior screws. Drivers side head light works but the motor continues to run once the light is up or down and shuts off about 20 seconds after.

I have some more inspecting to do, and you know how it is you always find stuff you didn't notice on your initial walk through.

Pics coming soon....

congratulations on your Corvette purchase and welcome back into the C4 Corvette brotherhood!

As far as the parts places go, check out all the forum supporting vendors. I have personally used Corvette central, Eklers, Zip Corvette and Mid America motor works. All are very good but you have lots of options as many places make parts for our cars

There are also some great performance parts places like Doug Rippie motorsports, Banski and lingenfelter etc... Too many to list. Also be sure to check out all the forum vendors who help keep the forum going.

As far as your headlight motor goes sounds like a stripped headlight gear (they are just plastic) you can buy a replacement gear and that should fix the issue. I can provide more details if you like on how to do the replacement, just PM me.

Enjoy your 'new' C4!

Smart move. I'm sure she will enjoy all the wrenching, parts chasing and pouring over service manuals.

Thanks guys. It is amazing how all the little "character issues" my '87 had , how I'm reminded of them with the '91.

I'm a small detail guy, not 100% ocd but certain things like courtesy light bulb being out or leather that hasn't been condition etc...are just the small things I notice.

Best of luck with your new ride. If your '91 was a garage queen like mine there's 2 things you'll want to check. First is the DOT mfg date on the side walls. Don't take a chance after 10 year life. The other is be prepared for engine shut down after a long run. If you have the original Multech injectors eventually they will fail. Be prepared to tow it home as I did cause most garages won't know whats wrong with it. After several hours of cool down you may be able to keep it running for a short time. Just my personal experience.
