Default Suggestions on bellhousing bolts?

The more I work on my cars the more I'm starting to hate GM or at least the engineers who designed them. I figure I can get the bottom bolts with some extensions but I'm having a hard time with the top ones. Any suggestions on a particular tool setup that may help?
I was trying both 9/16 and 14mm combo wrenches and also a 1/4 dr ratchet which I can't get to fit with how the bolts are too close to the firewall.

I've used really long extensions with a wobble end on the socket. Had no trouble reaching all when up on a lift.

When I removed my transmission, I went to the tool store and bought 4 "el cheapo" 9/16 boxends from the bargain bin. Heated up the end with a torch and made 4 progressively bigger bends. A bit of experimenting will find you two that will work in conjunction with each other to remove the top bolts. Tedious but doable.

I had always wondered how i would pull the engine in my car until i had to pull the transmission.

Now i know i can pull my transmission in under an hour!

Pull drive shaft, pull support beam, lower transmission a few inches, pull cooler lines, lower transmission more, easy access to bell housing bolts!

Are you saying dropping the tranny first will move the engine enough to have easier access to the top bolts?
