Default Carpet under the dash and door panels

I plan on replacing all my carpet with a more modern material. Anybody do anything creative with the carpet on the door panels and under the dash? I'm thinking I might want a different look.

Try to find some ALCANTARA - it is strong , easy to clean and you can find different textures / colours . Looks good combined with leather/vinil. With contrast stitching and some padding on the back it can be used to replace the door carpet pieces .
Also I think you can fit in on knee pads without removing those.
