What do you think of this one?
Guy sells a 94 C4 coupe with 100k km (60k mile). He's the 3rd owner for the last 8 years. Said that nothing is wrong, only airbag warning light is on. He made no mods on the car. He's asking $13500 but i hope i could have it for around $12k. From what i saw on the picture, i think that the actual owner bought it just for riding, but i'm not quite sure what the previous owner did with this car. Why changing back light, tint back window? What's this story tells you? Here's some pictures.

Looks like it was someone's toy. They tinted it for looks, did the taillights for extra light output, etc.
Looks like a nice car. If you're happy with the price it looks like it was someone's baby.

I'd think I'd ask for a snapshot of the SPID LABEL and see just how it was originally optioned. Looks to be a well optioned car. Does it appear to be an EXPORT/CANADA build with the correct cluster, DRL etc? The SPID would answer all of those questions.
Z49 in the RPO list would ID the Canadian minimum requirements. I'd think that having the Z49 RPO might increase it's value somewhat for a very nice car.
If the cluster has complete and only Metric values for the analog gauges it could maybe be "assumed" to be a Z49 car but certainly NOT conclusive. The "Maple Leaf" on the door frame I don't know is conclusive or not, maybe just issued when the car was presented for validation/certification.
I believe that when looking at it you do a KEY-ON bulb check to confirm there's only an SIR issue and no missing bulbs. The SPID would ID options that should/might have KEY-ON DIC display.

Good advice WVZR-1. I'll try to obtain the SPID label info. I live in quebec, canada and this car is for sale somewhere in quebec. So i suppose that it is not an import car from US but a car that was bought from a canadian GM dealership.

OP - if the car is closer to RUU or if RUU didn't mind taking a "look-see" and evaluate it for you I'd be asking I think.

Consider that i have to pay it with cnd money. And it still $13.5k out of my budget (not $9.5k for a US buyer). So it is a lot of money. The car is too far in the north for RUU to look at it. It is a 8 hr ride from Mtl. So that's wy i'm asking for advice before doing a move.
CUISINARTVETTE you said "Keep looking thats quite a bit of $ considering the condition".
What do you mean by considering the condition?

Since the tunnels are narrow, there are a couple of companies that sell foot well protectors. First I have seen one in stainless. But should be easily removable.

OP - I think the SPID answers all requirements before checking more closely. I can't see the tire size in the snapshot but if it were 275/40 then maybe it could be assumed the Z07 is there also.

I think in Canada, it's probably a pretty good deal. Everyone here will tell you to wait for another one, being sold by a meticulous crackhead who will sell it for pennies on the dollar to fund his habit. I'm not going to, if it's in your budget, and you like the car, it looks like a clean car and a good buy. There's a value to getting the car you want and the experiences of the car, that is more than the could hundred or a thousand you might save on some crackhead craigslist deal.
