The license plate cover on all Grand Sports are suppose to be white (blue was not an option), but it still looks great.

Great looking car! It defiantly doesn't show its mileage. I would have guessed much less. I wouldn't worry about that plate cover...if that's all it needs that's nothing...I'm sure a body shop could match the color and shoot it for you for a couple bucks...

I can't see from the picture either, but all GrandSports have manual transmissions. Although I just read above that the car is #744 of 1000 so it must be a real GS with a manual.

It would have to have a manual transmission as all Grand Sport's came with the LT4, which came only with the ZF 6 speed trans.

Looks like it's in first to me. I can make out the full width of the shifter bezel and there's no auto shift indicator window.

Great, great car. I have had my non-GS LT4 drop top since 2000.

About 10 years ago I did a survey on the forum. I think all '95 Vettes had a Mobil 1 decal attached to the under side of the hood down low near the air filter. In '96 they ran out and only early production units had the decal attached.

How early did they stop the decal in '96?

I received 22 replies back then. Non-GS VIN 152 and 777 had the decal. VIN 1941 and later did not.

Of the GS units five replied. The Grand Sports had their own VIN sequence in '96. On VIN,s 60 347 446 796 876 none had the Mobil 1 decal under the hood.

Do you mind? What is the last digits of your VIN and does your new toy have the Mobil 1 decal under the hood?

I remember in 1996 I was driving along Interstate 285 in Atlanta when I saw a semi trailer full of new Grand Sports, coups and verts: a site to behold my friend. Enjoy!

It's great to see someone's dream come true. That's a great looking Grand Sport. The red interior really pops. Admiral Blue is my favorite C4 color.
Good luck with it and enjoy living the dream. Just keep in mind that's it's still a 20 year old car so there may be some issues to deal with. Don't let that discourage you.

My #713 Vert was delivered to Tom Jumper Chevrolet located in Sandy Springs GA. It was built in April with no Mobil One sticker. Maybe it was one of them on the semi trailer you saw.
