Wheels!
Have been looking at replacement wheels for my '96.
I have the impression that those 5 spoke jobs are really cool looking on a vette....especially when the car is parked and motionless.
But the sawblades on my 'vette now, make the car look like it's "doing 60" while sitting still.
Is it just me, or am I silly for not really wanting to give up that illusion of "motion", just for some "fancier" wheels?
Decisions, decisions.

Re: Wheels! (MagikDraggin)
I love the sawblade look. Thats probably why I have a set.
The new 5 spokes look mean and lean though, and really show off the brakes. (as long as they aren't the 1st gen C5 5spoke. too fat)

The sawblades look cool. I used to think they were ugly, if you want the truth. But since then they seem to have grown on me. Of course, that doesn't mean I wouldn't like a set of 11" ZR1 wheels in back and 9.5 up front, but I'm just plain happy with the 'vette. Not any complaints.

Oh yeah.....don't get me wrong here.....I like them too. But $1400 bucks is a might bit steep, in my opinion. And they sure don't make the 'vette go any faster either.
Wasn't there some Forum member that could get them cheaper? I seem to recall some chatter to that effect, when I first signed up here in July. Anyone remember who that may be?

PLEASE EVERYONE CHECK OUT THE "CONSUMER ALERTS" posted all over the Forum.
Do not send this person any money! Buyer beware!
On the lighter side, I bought my wheels from the owner of a Y2k who moved up to Z06's.
These are original GM Y2K wheels in excellent condition and I paid like $900 including shipping! This includes original, authentic center caps
Check and watch C5 parts for sale section of the Forum. I have seen even better deals since I bought mine.

Re: Wheels! (jackdaroofer)
Holy cow! I read that post, just a little while ago too....and it didn't click in my peanut brain that was the fellow I was talking about having posted here back in July.
Caveat Emptor for sure!
Thanks for the tip on checking out the C5 fellas for good buys on wheels. I'll do that.
