Brake Fluid Dot 3 vs Dot 4..?
Can someone tell me what the difference is between Dot 3 and Dot 4
1. Are the compatible?
2. If used in an older system would you need to flush the system be for changing?
Thanks Steve

DOT 3 is better...
DOT 4, if I remember rightly, is better for storage.
I use Valvoline SynPower. Its a synthetic brake fluid. Works very nicely!

Why not DOT5? There is silicon free DOT5 too.
There are a lot of DOT3 fluids that have excellent wet/dry boiling points. I use the Ford HD fluid on the street and ATE Super Blue for track use.
See the bottom of this thread for some good info on fluids and their boiling points: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=340111
